Fun surprises!

Yesterday I came home from a long day of work and sitting there on the table was a package waiting for me!

Nothing is more wonderful than mail, and wanting to savor the moment I slowly pulled each piece of tape off. This won an impatient look from my husband, who had been staring at the package for a good hour or two before I made it home. But how often do you get mail? Really.

I opened up the lid and surprise! It was a maternity shirt from my very best friend Lisa Lu! It's a little big in the tummy area but I'm sure it won't be for long! Thanks Lisa Lu! I love it!

Going to the dogs

>> Thursday, January 29, 2009

My parents are wonderful. They are the sweetest, cutest little retired people you'll ever meet. They have a cute little jack russell terrier named Teddy that likes to sleep in, and they like to visit resale shops and Salvation Army.

They love to find great finds, and the other day they found me this.

A great changing table for a great price for our nursery. I thought maybe I'd paint it, (or I guess someone else since I won't be able to paint) and it would go great in the room I have planned. Yep, only 6 weeks pregnant and I already have the room invisioned. It's a sickness.

So once they got it home they put it out into their sun room and later on that night, they couldn't find Teddy. Their dog loves the sun room so they walked out and saw this.

He just loves the new couch they got him so he can sit up higher to see the deer and all the little animals outside. It's just the perfect length to stretch out on, and a great spot to watch TV!

I've heard since then they've moved it, but it sure was fun while it lasted.

A moment in my tummy... a lifetime in my heart

A few weeks ago Chris and I discovered that our lives are going to get a little more interesting. I visited my parents a few weekends ago and my mom pointed out a few strange things I was doing. My normally small bladder had seemingly shrunk and I was getting tired out easily.

Now most people would notice these things, but me? Oh no. Thankfully my mom is a little more observant.

A few days later I confirmed it. Yep, Chris and I are going to be parents! We couldn't be more happy with the news. The past couple of weeks we've been walking on clouds. I guess Spud isn't going to be an only child forever after all!

So yesterday was my first doctors appointment and when the nurse told me what I already knew I got excited all over again! It was like hearing it for the first time. My due date is September 23, making me around 6 weeks.

I don't know if my belly is from being 6 weeks or just from my increase in appetite, but I thought it would be fun to post anyway. :-D

Who needs Rosie?

Do you remember Rosie, the maid from the Jetsons? Well... meet Roomba. This is the best little gadget you could own if vacuuming isn't your favorite chore around the house. If you can't have Rosie, you might as well get one of these.

My parents gave this to Chris and I and we love it! It's great on hardwood floors and to get those dust bunnies under your bed (of course we don't have those) haha. We just love to charge up our Roomba and watch it go. If only Spud could agree.
