When Chris and I would eat dinner, Alex would hang out with us in his swing. He was always pretty content with that. He would bat at the little fishies that hung from the top and watch the lights flash. Well, recently Alex decided the swing doesn't hold the same meaning to him.

Alex decided he was ready for a big boy chair. So, even if he isn't eating with us, he is content to sit in his high chair. He'll sit, and talk to us while we eat and just smile and coo.

Then when it's time for him to eat his rice cereal he really feels like a big boy sitting up, eating from a spoon. He's a real fan of the big boy chair!

Alex has been working on his baby push ups lately. It's pictures like this that make his mommy feel like he's growing up so fast. I feel like I'm going to turn around and he'll be crawling off.

Alex got to try his first taste of rice cereal last weekend. He thought it was pretty good.

He sat up like a big boy in his bumbo chair and gave eating from a spoon a shot. It looked so good that Spud decided he wanted to ask Alex for a try.

Alex said no way puppy dog, this is all for me! And he wanted to know if he could just take the whole bowl because I wasn't fast enough. Alex says this week rice cereal next week steak!

Over Christmas, Alex got to see two pretty important ladies in his mommy's life: his aunt Lisa and and his aunt Giovanna.

Aunt Lisa and aunt Giovanna may look nothing like his mommy, but they are her sisters from other mothers. They've been her friends for well over 20 years now (which makes mommy feel old).

But honestly, if I could choose to add two people into my family, I would have certainly chose these two. :-D

Alex got to meet his aunt Giovanna for the first time and he thought she was really cool, and super tan! He asked if we could visit her soon in Texas because he heard the weather is nicer. I told him we'd work something out.

And he really liked seeing his Aunt Lisa again, because you know, he hadn't seen her since he was like, a baby. And she gave him a really cool toy too that says the abc's and their sounds. It makes him giggle when his parents play with it. Seriously, it's cute. He can't wait to start pushing the buttons himself!
